Crapshooters Dance Excerpt

Vocals

  • 24 Countryman B3 mic elements (various mounting methods: earpieces, elastic halos, threaded through hair)
  • 4 Shure UR4D wireless receivers, 20 Shure SLX wireless receivers
  • Behringer X32 (with about 20 programmed DCA scenes) for vocal mics
  • Central 2-speaker cluster for vocal reinforcement

Band

  • ~12-person band in orchestra pit
  • 3 DIs (keyboard, bass, guitar)
  • 3 mics (area mic over brass, area mic over winds, snare drum mic on drumset)
  • 6 channels on analog sound board for mixing band (feeding two output channels into Behringer X32)
  • 2 speakers on either side of stage for band

Sound Effects

In this production, Big Jule fires his gun and it ricochets around in the sewer. I created this sound for the effect by layering several found sounds, along with a series of fades to different speakers so the sound would "move" around the house. See it in action below:
