Sound Effects

An enormous comedic crash sound created by layering a number of found sounds, including one of a distressed cat. Used after two characters run across upstage in a chase. Played from an offstage speaker.

The sound of an elderly waiter falling down the stairs. Played from an offstage speaker

The sound of a baby crying. Used when one character runs across upstage chasing another character with a baby carriage.

Modified from a found sound. Consistently got a laugh every night.

Two sounds used to create a setting on a pier.

The comedically large sound of two policeman falling off the pier after the elderly waiter beats them up.

Preshow & Intermission Music

Worked with the director to carefully choose the style of music, Skiffle. Examples:

Sound Reinforcement

  • Live band on far house left that played transition music
  • Two cardioid mics - one for singer in band, one for a guest singer from the cast
  • Three 1960s imitation mics - for musical numbers at the start of act 2 and end of the show, sung by the cast
  • 60s mics were connected to SLX wireless transmitters in the base, making the mics wireless for easy transport across the stage
  • Delayed speaker on stage left for band mics on stage right, to locate the sound to the band.
