Sound Design

Sound System:

7 total speakers:
- 4 speakers in the four corners of the space, used for directional and ambient sound
- 1 sub-woofer behind risers
- 2 speakers underneath audience seating, used for low directionality of various water sounds

Sound Effects:

Numerous found ambient water sounds populated the design. Also present were the sounds of wind in trees, numerous birds and wildlife, and more. These ambient sounds underscored much of the show, but were difficult to record due to their subtlety.

This sound was used (at various speeds) for transitions between scenes. It was created using a found sound and as3sfxr.

Two sounds for punctuation of a geology lesson, created by distorting and combining found sounds

An abstract sound of a manhole cover blowing out. Used during the flood sequence along with music and rain and water sounds.

An absurdly large comedic explosion sound.
