Sound Effects

Made from a recording of the actress playing Fiona for the transformation scene. Accompanied with thunder and whispering sounds. (See video excerpt #8 above)

A few of the dozens of dragon sounds created by recording and distorting the voice of the actress playing the dragon. (See video excerpt #1 above)

Some of the farting and burping sounds called for in the show, which included 28 sounds for a fart/burp battle in the number "I Think I Got You Beat". (See video excerpt #4 above)

Shrek cuts the chain of the portcullis with an axe, and it slams down, trapping the dragon inside the castle. The portcullis was created entirely though this sound. Created by modifying and combining three found sounds. (See video excerpt #1 above)

This sound played in conjunction with a costume piece whenever Pinocchio told a lie and his nose grew.

A sound used when Fiona angrily rips a book in half.

This sound of lava underscores part of "Travel Song" when Shrek and Donkey are on a bridge over a lake of molten lava.

Used when Farquaad's obviously fake horse backs offstage. (See video excerpt #6 above)

This sound was used when the dragon incinerates Farquaad. (See video excerpt #8 above)

After Fiona dances with an inflatable plastic deer in "Morning Person", she flings it offstage and it makes this sound.

This sound was used for Farquaad's dramatic entrance into the torture chamber before we see him for the first time.
